AtomPunk Product: The Ultra Sonic Bath
From The Pink Tentacle:
At the 1970 World Expo in Osaka, consumer electronics maker Sanyo demonstrated their vision for the future by showcasing a series of appliances they thought would populate the home of tomorrow. Included was the Ultrasonic Bath, a pod-like human washing machine that cleans, massages and dries the user in a fully automated 15-minute process.
This thing is amazing. The World’s Fairs of the first half of the 19th century were absolutely awesome and continue to amaze me at how confident and adamant people were back then about creating a new future.
Can you imagine if something like this caught on? Forget the negative implications of a completely sterile human body and the effects that would have on the human species for a moment and consider the awesomeness of climbing into on of these after a stressful day at work and flipping on your awesome new TV set .
