Oh My Googie.

Flickr user hmdavid has a set titled “Oh My Googie” which is awesome. I like his description of the style:

GOOGIE. People either love it or they hate it. I happen to LOOOOVE IT. Googie is that wacky, whimsical, space-age architecture that permeated the American landscape in the 1950s and 1960s. Three parts Jetsons, one part Flintstones, Googie was a form of mid-century modern architecture designed to attract an ever-expanding American leisure class.

One Response to “Oh My Googie.”

  1. Googie architecture is optimistic! Unfortunately, many of these gems are disappearing.
