I think we can all agree that punk, as a concept and, maybe also as a form of music, took its last dying breaths in the late nineties. So calling Delilah’s a “Punk Bar” is like calling your mom’s meat loaf Michelin Star quality food, you can think it and you can say it, but it doesn’t make it true.
Nevertheless, Delilah’s Chicago is an awesome bar and, on certain nights, they have DJs spinning legitimately cool sets for the Atompunk crowd. Everything from Psychobilly to more classic styles of music can be heard from this establishment on any given night. The art on the walls and dingy, hole-in-the-wall feel to the place give it an awesome atmosphere. The leather jacket-clad, tattooed girls make it even better. The beer selection is definitely respectable for a bar like Delilah’s, particularly in a location like Lincoln Park (they have a Brew Dog beer on tap. ON TAP!). Its definitely a place to check out if you haven’t been there yet.
