Cocktail of the Week: Americano.

Originally, and more appropriately, named the Milano-Torino, the Americano is a classic Italian cocktail. I remember drinking Campari for the first time when I was in Italy as a teenager, is there any other liqueur that is more classically Italian? Sipping one of these will make you feel like you’re right in the middle of an early Antonioni classic.

1 1/2 ounces Campari
1 1/2 ounces sweet vermouth
Cold club soda
Slice of orange, lemon, or lime

Pour the Campari and vermouth over ice in a glass, fill with club soda. Garnish with a slice of lemon or orange.
