Featured Atomic Age Cocktail: The Gimlet

Ya, so as I thought, featuring a new, retro cocktail every week has become a bit daunting so I’ll just feature cocktails I think are cool and fit the Atompunk theme as often as I can.

This time: The Gimlet

Even though this is one of the most basic cocktails out there, there are a surprisingly varied amount of recipes. So, that being said, this is one of a many.

You’ll need:

1.5 oz. Gin
1 oz. Lime Juice
.5 oz. Simple Syrup
A Twist of Lime

Add gin, lime juice and syrup to an ice filled shaker and shake. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with the twist of lime.

A lot of recipes call for Rose’s Lime Juice, which is little more than high fructose corn syrup and citric acid, which isn’t exactly good for you, but you could definitely use that in place of the lime juice/simple syrup. Come to think of it, the corn syrup would probably make it more authentically Atomic Age…
